Hysteric Tendencies

“I do not doubt that it would be easier for fate to take away your suffering than it would for me. But you will see for yourself that much has been gained if we succeed in turning your hysterical misery into common unhappiness. With a mental life that has been restored to health, you will be better armed against that unhappiness.” - Sigmund Freud, Studies on Hysteria (1895)

I created large vessels to bring light to the mistreatment women have endured for centuries. Women are seen as decorative vases; we are meant to look pretty, be quiet, and produce children. The government dictates what women can do with their uterus but not how others abuse them. The media dictates what the acceptable size of our bodies should be but doesn’t care about our health. Society dictates how women are seen, mothers after bearing children but society doesn’t care for us as individuals. Women are not cared for but controlled.
